Essay Writing Competition at 2021 Regional Book Fair, Koforidua
An essay writing competition was held for some Senior High schools in Koforidua as part of the 2021 Regional Book fair which took place, from Thursday, 28th October 2021 to Saturday 30th October 2021. The essay writing competition was intended to improve creative writing among Senior High School (SHS) students in Koforidua and its environs. The participating schools were Pope John Senior High and Junior Seminary School, Pentecost Senior High School, New Juaben Senior High School, Koforidua Secondary /Technical school and Ghana Senior High School.
The written essays focused on the benefits to be derived with Accra being designated as UNESCO World Book Capital, 2023. The original written essay was not to be more than 800 words, and participants read their essays within 5 minutes in front of the judges and audience. The adjudged winner and runner ups were awarded with assorted reading books. Prior to the writing of the respective essays, participants were asked to visit the Accra World Book Capital,2023 website to acquaint themselves with information regarding the Accra World Book Capital, 2023. Additionally, participants were also asked to visit UNESCO website to get detailed information about the World Book Capital in general. See more pictures in the media gallery.
